The DEWALT DCP580B and the Bosch PL1632 are worthy of taking a look at also. Both tool brands are famous for their premium quality Electric Hand Planers. Both these tools are highly rated as well. The DCP580B advertises a user rating of 4.3/5 as compared to 4.4/5 star rating for the PL1632 by Bosch.

The DCP580B by DEWALT comes with a couple of features you might not find on competing Electric Hand Planers. For example Brushless motor which provides power and runtime of 32,000 cuts per minute. The Bosch PL1632 although, is very competitive with Powerful planer with 6.5 Amp rating and 16,500 RPM speed for fast stock removal and smooth finish in soft and hard woods plus Spring-loaded stand elevates tool to protect blade and tool resting spot; special shape allows easy entry in middle of workpiece.

Each of these two options make a superb choice if you're in the market for Power Electric Hand Planers

It would be nice if the discharge port were reversible. I use it outside as there is a huge outflow of chips. It runs smooth and the cutters are very sharp. I couldn't believe how perfect this DEWALT was for the job. For working with soft woods, this is a decent planer.

6. Makita KP0810 Electric Hand Planer

I do like the portability and ease of use. It's not convenient, but it did contain about 98% of the mess. I have mostly Makita tools and none of them have failed. Anyway, it works really well, and comes with a tool bag. Without this planer, I had no idea how to solve the problem.

7. Makita XPK01Z Electric Hand Planer

This is why I gave this Makita planner 4 rather than 5 stars. I've already given one of my other two power planers away. Requires a vacuum hose to control the mess it makes. I couldn't believe how perfect this Makita was for the job. Was amazed at how fast and effective this little Makita planer is

This is why I gave this TACKLIFE planner 4 rather than 5 stars. It requires some skill to not run of the edge and dig. Use the thin for the base and the thick for the tool cutout. The dust port could use a bit of a redesign. I've been ruined by the TACKLIFE Planer!

Great for small planing jobs, no electric cord. Works wonderfully and no problem getting it set up. 30 minutes of planing is around 30 gallons of chips. The instruction can be improved with more picture. It seems to suck nearly all of the sawdust.
