Top 4 Best 8 Inch Disc Sanders

What Real People Are Saying About The Bucktool BD4801

High Quality Tool - Love it

This is a very high quality tool, I love it the second I open up the box, easy to setup, powerful, smooth, it is perfect in every way. Even I am a tool nut, I managed to injured myself in the first 15 minutes of using this tool, totally my fault. I primarily use the belt sander portion of the tool for sharpen ax, tools, knives, etc... and while I sharpened an ax, the thumb on my left hand, touched the 80 grit disc at 3400 RPM, well needless to say, it did not take long to remove a chunk of flesh from my thumb. Wish the mfg include the safety cover when it is not in use. I make sure, it won't happen again, I designed a safety cover on my own, it is nothing more than a piece of aluminum, cut to size and drill 4 holes, it is simple to make and extremely effective, if I ever need to use a disc sander, all I have to do is to remove the safety cover and to install the miter table (provided by Mfg), it only takes a minute. See the pictures for safety cover.

I would buy it again.

The pic was my first project. What's better for a test than converting a Michigan style axe? Packaged extremely well. Sanding belt and sanding disc already installed. Three bolts to install (By hand) for the two work tables. The direct drive 3/4 HP motor is well enough to handle anything I do. It's relatively quiet and vibration free. I'm so impressed I'm looking at other Bucktool products.

Fills up a gap on the market

I like that it doesn't stop under the pressure of even a big workpiece. I can't say that about cheaper models with 6" disc. It gets job done, isn't too loud. What could be improved is a dust collection, although it is not bad. Just hard to plug a hose to the belt part when it is in horizontal position. You would need to keep a sander on a very edge of your workbench. Another minor complain is about changing the sanding belt. It is not difficult but takes a bit of time, few things have to be removed.
Before this tool the choice was between inexpensive ($100-150) sanders which are very light duty and a medium to heavy duty tools for which you have to spend at least $450, but often more. Bucktool is still affordable yet quality wise closer to more expensive models.

A Professional tool for a resonable price

BUCKTOOL 4 x 36-Inch Belt and 8-Inch Disc Sander with 3/4Hp Motor is a Professional quality tool at a reasonable price. Having checked both major home improvement centers of like sanders, none can compare in quality, price or performance. The 8" disc provides plenty of sanding face without hitting dead center and the 36" belt is mounted in both horizontal & vertical or any angle in between. The sander rests are solid metal with an excellent miter that works easily on both table surfaces. This should be your next tool for all your woodworking projects.

Fantastic!!! Unbelievably good buy!!!

Unbelievable low price. Ready to go rignt out of the box after putting in the three bolts to hold the miter plates. Even came with the sandpaper attached. Within 3 minutes after unboxing was using it to hog the edges off of carcass stretchers. Flawless performance. I am so delighted with this sander at this price point that I will take a look at other products they make
