What Real People Are Saying About The WEN 6369

Great Tool. Saves a lot of time! Tips and tricks

I’ve rented the expensive porter cable sander for prior renovation, this Wen accomplishes the same thing. Getting a clean finish is mainly about technique. Sure it wobbles a bit if you let it chatter, but it’s easy to adjust pressure, direction of travel, tool orientation, arm movement, or RPM to make it stop, same goes for the porter cable. Take all this with a grain of salt, I’ve only sanded <2000sq ft combined with either brand. My mistake with the rental is that I sanded too much. Near zero dust if you have a filter sock or other prefilter thingy on your vacuum. Didn’t bother to put up plastic for what you see in video. No thin layer of dust on nearby surfaces. Just let the pad breath occasionally so you don’t cake up and reduce suction. Brush off your filter sock when you hear your vacuum motor starting to stress and your CFMs drop (every 10-15min?). Wen specific feedback: -No complaints on build quality. -Pad size is fine, the included sandpaper does not hit bristles. -You may need a hose adapter, I just taped together something I had on hand. (I’m usually against using tape) General Tips, some of it common sense: -Scrape off your high spots before sanding, careful not to gouge or else you get to mud some more -Center the sandpaper as best you can, this really matters -Don’t overheat your vacuum. Reduce suction with breather on Wen if you have to, more prefably where your hose diameters change -Use a bright flashlight parallel with the surface to easily check for imperfections. Gradual humps are fine and expected if you floated a non-recessed seam.
-Don’t oversand your new/untouched drywall, the paper will start to pill, feather, etc
-Let the pad and hoses breathe ocassionally to clear any caking to keep your CFMs up
-If you’re new at this, there’s an art to not sanding too much or too little. Have confidence, you’ll do great.
-Use a filter sock or prefilter device

For the project in this video, the finish became good enough to project directly on the painted wall with an Epson 5040ub. ~150”. Used to be a fireplace. Will eventually have a ceiling mounted recessed drop down screen and a new fireplace. Only temporary. Video wasn’t really meant for a review, but here you go.

Works great!

I'm a residential painting contractor. I didn't expect much out of this machine for the price but have to say that it worked much better than expected. I used this to sand popcorn ceilings down in an entire 1,800 sq. Ft. house and it got the job done quickly. It's already paid for itself so if it decides to break down I'll buy another.

Great invention

This was just what I needed. I had old swirly hand mudded texture on my ceiling and needed it cleaned off to put modern texture up. I was dreading the work but this tool made it possible. Took 2 hours to do a 22x15 foot ceiling taking it down to the bare drywall. I used the 60grit sandpaper, had it connected to my 6.5hp 5 gallon shop vac. Dust was minimal and I suggest you get a vacuum bag on your shopvac. Filled the bag from a single room but I would say it took in 90% of the dust. Took 7 sand disks for the large living room and 3-4 per bedroom. So if your doing a whole house figure out how many sand disks you will need because you cant get these locally, must be ordered. Yes your arms will get tired so lean it on your leg with it straight up to make it easier. I don't think its that heavy compared to what others have said. Just put your arms over your head and see how long you can hold them there not holding anything and you will get tired. It is what it is but not too heavy. I recommend if you need to do a whole house.

You need a good vacuum and will have to clean the filter OFTEN

It does work and it seems to be well built. I just drywalled a 1000 square foot room (not fun). Here are a couple observations. You need a good vacuum and will have to clean the filter OFTEN. It is pretty good size and you need a decent size work area to maneuver. It does NOT work on inside corners/edges, so don't toss the hand sander.

Wow! Excellent design

Product worked perfect. I am a pro home remodeler and can't believe I waited this long to buy an electric sander. I tried the POWER-PRO 2100 but its head would not make a right angle. Anyway, used this WEN on 1300 sf of drywall. Worked great! No concerns what so ever. Already paid for itself in time-saved. Excellent design WEN. If your reading this review, just click the buy button, lol. But add some sanding discs because Lowes doesnt carry ones with holes in them.
