"Actually cut myself."I would not say it is a big deal, I can make pretty welds. It has a plastic cover to protect the display from splatter and dirt. Best money I have spent on a Arc Welder. Sold the welder about a year ago but now I'm looking at getting another soon. I felt at home with the controls, they are almost identical to the 255EXT.
