"Well I was definitely wrong!"The portability is outstanding. They run as nice and smooth as the 7018 rods I use in my welding class. The amperage markings go by every twenty amps. I was using these, and the 1/8th rods, in a 240 welder. Not so convenient if you are welding up a table or frame.
